Evan Fong is one of the popular Canadian YouTubers, he started his YouTube journey on 15 Sep 2011 when he created his YouTube channel called VanossGaming. Evan Fong born in Toronto, Canada on May 31, 1992, his father was Chinese and his mother was of Korean descent. His parents wanted him to continue his economics course at a university, they wanted him to focus on his study and did not support his decision to take YouTube as a full-time career.

There were only a few games which he used to play as a kid like, Duke Nukem 3D, Freddy the Fish, and Crash Bandicoot. He was not very serious about YouTube when he created his channel, it was just as a hobby for him and he used to spend more time on his other activity.

After a couple of years when he started playing games like Call of Duty and started creating a series of those videos with his fun-filled commentary, that was the time when his YouTube channel started getting regular subscribers and followers. He created many game series after that GTA5 and Grand Theft Auto V video series was popular amongst his many.

Fong thinks that there is not much video game-related content available on television and because of that many game enthusiasts people are turning toward video-sharing platforms like YouTube. He feels that the kind of popular video games is now a day, it’s difficult for everyone to get the same kind of experience in the huge gaming world and that’s why they are more interested in such contents and it gives even more opportunity for such gaming channels and this is one of the reasons behind the success of online gaming channels. There is a huge fanbase on YouTube for gaming-related videos and one of the most subscribed and watched YouTube channels is PewDiePie, which is also a gaming video channel. PewDiePie is the most popular YouTube channel and the second most subscribed YouTube channel. There was a time when Fong’s channel was getting more subscribers than PewDiePie.

Evan did not complete his study and dropped out of his university when he was in the second year, it was not an easy decision for him and his parents were not very supportive of him. He was not sure about his success on YouTube and kept changing his plans for YouTube and this took a little while for him to decide and take a call, once his YouTube channel started gaining success, he made a decision to stop his study and focus on his channel. Fong’s father used to play games on Playstation 3 with the name of ‘vanoss62‘, he picked his name ‘Vanoos’ from his dad’s Playstation id. He has changed his channel logo many times and finally, in 2015 he got the ‘VG’ which he is using now and it’s a combination of Bat and Owl shape with a prominent ‘V’ shape in it.

Fong has played many video games but Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is close to his heart, he just doesn’t play the games but he has also worked as a creative director for Dead Realm, which was a game which released in 2016. Apart from video games, he was also interested in hockey and he has played for 4 different hockey teams and participated in various levels of competition.

Evan co-produced ‘Paranormal Action Squad’ with his YouTuber friends SeaNanners and Sark, which was an adult series of animated comedy, the first season of the series got premiered on YouTube Red on 16 November 2016. He has also worked as an actor, writer, and producer at Superhero School in 2017, which was a comedy fantasy series.

From hockey to video game and now electronic pop music, Fong growing social media popularity can be seen on his gaming YouTube channel VanossGaming, he used that and now rising as a songwriter as RYNX, release in 2017, ‘Want You’ was his first single with Miranda Glory. Fong has also remixed tracks by Sasha Sloan, THEY, Alison Wonderland, and Gallant.

The craze for Evan’s gaming videos is growing every day, his casual funny voice and situational comedy in the commentary are admired by millions. His first video title was “IT DOESN’T MATTER!
